Thanks for taking the time to read a bit about myself, be sure to leave a comment so I can read a bit about yourself!

Ages 0-18 – Not much happens. I grew up in the far north-west corner of Ireland, which was far from just about anywhere. I get through childhood before crashing head-first into my teenage years. I manage to make it through school before (just) making it into college.

Ages 18-20 – College. Blurry memories of the library and class. End of year exams leads to 24 hours of non-soberness.

Age 20.5-21.5 – Richmond, VA; a year of work and general goofing-off. Also the year I re-discovered animation. I believe it was either Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends or The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy or possibly both. Either way, I start watching more and more cartoons and animation in general.

Ages 21.5-22 – College (again). Newly acquired maturity meant less time devoted to really fun things.

Age 22-present – Now a civil engineer taking the world on one road at a time, I started writing this blog because I’d nothing better to do and also as an outelt for my thoughts on animation and the world at large. I also joined ASIFA-East and am famous (infamous?) for being the only Irish, civil engineer member who lives in Baltimore.

Charles K: An Autobiography

After being born in Ireland in the mid 1980s and raised sometime thereafter, I emigrated to America with my Civil Engineering degree, where I still am today. The people below are some of the very best working in the animation and related industries so don't forget to check them out when you're finished here. And yes, the title is a reference to one of my all-time favourite cartoons. See if you can guess it! E-mail: charlestheirishman[at]gmail.com
